Topic: You have recently started to work in a new company. Write a letter to an English speaking friend. In your letter, explain

  • Why you have changed the job
  • Describe your new job
  • Tell him/her your other news

Dear John,
Hope you are doing well. I am writing this letter to let you know that I have switched my career.

You know the web development company in which I worked before is far away from my living place. I had to travel by bus for nearly three hours everyday and the pay was also not good enough. I became weak due to long journey. So, I decided to submit my resume in some job searching sites and received interview call from a multinational Consultancy Services.

At Present, I am working as a Programmer in this new organization where I have found new friends and the work conditions are fantastic. In comparison with the previous company here, I am getting much better salary. Thank god! I have got relief from the long travelling.

In the next month we are going to have reunion party with our ex- university students. After long 5 years some known are coming to join with us! That’s really an exciting news dear friend. Without you we will not be able to enjoy the party heartily. hope to see you soon!

Bestregards,
Adam

Tips for GT Writing Task -1

Before writing GT Task-1, You must consider two things i.e formal and informal writing. You must be careful about this two factors. While writing to friends, you need to use informal tone. You cannot address your friend as sir or at the end you cannot say kind regards.

On the other hand, for formal letter, you must be careful to whom you are writing the letter. If you write a letter to your manager or some other unknown person, you must not use friendly informal tone. You must go with formal way.
